#AroundTheNorthIn80Beers – Day 10
Beer: Square Rigger IPA
The Brewer: Daleside Brewery
I’m starting to wonder if Hull is a local beer wasteland. Surely not? After checking out a few city centre pubs, to no avail, I spotted a Weatherspoons. Luckily, they had a couple of beers by the Dalesman Brewery in Harrogate, so I went for Square Rigger, their IPA.
Once I reached an agreement with the hard of hearing barmaid for what I wanted and how much, I watched the pint settle nicely on the bar before going to find a nice, quiet seat.
I had a good feeling about Square Rigger and that was only heightened by the light, hoppy aroma. A scorcher of a day deserves a nice, light creamy pint.
And that’s exactly what I got. Fresh, with just a touch of fizz on the tongue and a pleasant aftertaste.
This is just a lovely, tasty, enjoyable pint that was perfect for a hot day, and to round off the first ten days of #AroundTheNorthIn80Beers. Hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am.

When Charles Dickens visited Harrogate in 1858, he described it as “the queerest place with the strangest people in it leading the oddest lives…”
The town hosting Eurovision in 1982 did nothing to dispel this.
